Abstract

Lean Management (LM) has been presented as a one of the methods for improving the competitiveness of manufacturing companies. Today, observations show that, despite the many benefits of implementing LM tools, relatively few companies make a decision to -employ them. Although considerable research has been devoted to lean manufacturing, rather less attention has been paid to conditions of its implementation. It is important to know the drivers and barriers of the implementation of lean, however, diverse business conditions require to indicate critical factors rather than the general prescription of success. To fill the identified gap, a detailed analysis of literature was conducted with regard to Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The resources of Web of Science database from 2015 to 2017 have been studied.. In total 105 articles related to the implementation of lean have been analyzed. The exploration of the collected research papers allowed to identify 12 articles corresponding to the scope of this study. Based on identified critical factors, an integrated matrix of the conditions of the implementation of lean has been developed. It classifies all factors into the following four categories: internal economic, internal non-economic, external economic, external non-economic ones.
