E–LEARNING AS A COMPONENT OF OPEN EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

Background: The improvement of e-learning is required for independent activity of students. One of the options of e-learning are educational web-quests on the basis of cloud computing. Information resources of the Internet are used in educational web quests. Methods: With e-learning in two groups of problems have to be solved: methodical and technical ones. Web-quest, using information resources of the Internet and integrating them into educational process, helps to effectively solve a number of practical problems as in the process Web-quest operation a number of competences are developed. The authors developed and implemented in practical application: educational web-quest on probability theory, educational web quest on combination theory, educational web-quest on mathematics history, educational web quest on statistics for students of humanities. Results: The educational cross-disciplinary Internet portal "Interactive Educational Environment" was developed by authors to support e-learning. By means of web technologies independent cognitive activity of students in the process of e–learning when using educational web-quests is organized. Conclusions: The most effective way of independent work of students is the use of e-learning training. E-learning training are possible to organize by means of educational web-quest. The educational web-quests developed by the author on mathematics are applied in mathematics for students of humanities. The experimental work showed that the use of e-learning training in mathematics improves the quality of mathematical education and promotes students’ personal development. The improvement in mathematical training level, information literacy improvement, interest raise in mathematics study proved it to be true.
