STUDY ON THE CHALLENGES OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROCESS IN THE CONTEXT OF ROMANIAN ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The challenges Europe is facing today rely on the entrepreneurship development which stands for economic growth and new job creation. As the Entrepreneurship 2020 action plan promotes, the new businesses are crucial for economic development of Europe, being the powerful drivers for better productivity, new skills acquisition, and opening new market sectors. In this view, the paper attempts to investigate the current issues encountered by Romanian enterprises in their entrepreneurial path and the related effects on entrepreneurial education, capturing main factors which may stimulate the entrepreneurial culture through practical and positive communication about the opportunities of new businesses creation. The research methodology entailed firstly a secondary research on entrepreneurship process concept and, secondarily, the authors carried out a primary research questionnaire-based applied on 40 enterprises active in different Romanian business sectors. The results underlined the main factors hampering the new business creation considering the Romanian cultural values, ranking the barriers for entrepreneurship development e.g. lack of entrepreneurial skills, practical experience, bureaucracy, corruption, etc.
