IMPORT SUBSTITUTION AND COMPETITIVE GROWTH OF PRODUCTION IN THE AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Abstract
The article considers the issues of import substitution in the agricultural sector of the Russian economy. The import substitution has a positive effect on the economy of the state, promotes the economic independence from other countries in the world arena and is profitable for the state. To prevent a shortage of certain products on Russian market it is necessary to develop and implement a proper import substitution policy. The import substitution in agricultural sector of Russia will also contribute to the construction of new enterprises and the further development of production in the country. The author analyzes some indicators of import substitution in the agro-industrial complex of Russia, studies the issues of increasing the efficiency of import substitution of agricultural products, discusses the aspects of shaping an optimal import substitution policy, considers the types of state support to Russian agricultural enterprises, and studies the performance of Russian agricultural enterprises in challenging economic conditions.
