PHILOSOPHICAL CONTEMPLATION IN THE DAILY LIFE: THE ACHIEVING OF INTERNAL DIMENSION
Abstract
The article examined the main characteristics of philosophical contemplation as a method of philosophizing, as well as the experience of philosophical self-knowledge in accordance with the main characteristics of the philosophical practice of existentialism on the example of “philosophical confession” by N.A. Berdyaev. According to this philosophical practice, in order to truly be a human, one should not be in a state emotional relaxation, but, on the contrary, one should mental tension, the desire towards a significant goal and a freely chosen task. The process of self-knowledge, in the interpretation of Berdyaev, represents certain spiritual practices that are fixed in everyday life, organically interlacing with it. In fact, philosophy becomes a way of life. In our investigation, we use on the methodology of M. Heidegger, what he defines as a four-dimensional force field of life experience. In each of these dimensions, the position of the individual is the desire to be in tension between opposites. In the ability to retain this tension, the strength or weakness of the existential potential, vital energy, is manifested. It is in this focus of tension that we are shown N.A. Berdyaev’s practice of self-knowledge.
