MODERN HISTORIOGRAPHERS ON THE RESULTS AND PERSPECTIVES OF STUDYING THE HISTORY OF CIVIL WAR IN RUSSIA
Abstract
Historiography of the history about Civil war is currently on the rise. In many ways, this is connected with the 100th anniversary of the beginning of large-scale military operations on the territory of Russia in the spring of 1918. Recently, a significant number of historiographical works on the history of Civil war have been published and need to be evaluated. The aim of the article is to present the results of the study of the topic, reveal the problems of discussion, note the most important directions that require further study. Based on the method of multiple interpretations, the authors of this article give an analysis of the recent publications on the problem under study. Historiography of the Civil war has recently been supplemented with important works, it is characterized by extensive problematics, complex approach to the problem study, strengthening of the source base, formation of holistic impression of the main tendencies of the problem study. Issues about the beginning, reasons, chronological framework of the war and the participation of various social groups in it, social-political and economical atmosphere of the war period continue being discussed. It is assumed that the solution to many issues of discussion will depend on the application of new conceptual approaches to the study of the history of the Civil war in Russia.
