Abstract

A family is one of the most important institutes of socialization. The sociological research aimed at studying social problems of a modern family was taken in the Chelyabinsk region, it involved 1800 respondents in different cities and rural areas. During the research the attention was focused on the influence of family problems on the socialization of children. There appears in modern sociological science the category of self-determination of a family, including the realization of its educational function. The measures are called which should be used by different actors to strengthen family support in its self-determination in the sphere of education and socialization of children.
