INTEGRATION OF THE NEW PUBLICATIONS CULTURE IN HUMANITIES INTO ELECTRONIC JOURNALS
Abstract
The current development of information technologies is changing the world dramatically. Paper and book printing are rapidly passing away. Information technologies started to form the new culture for scientific and educational publications. The focus of this article is on the historic, philosophic and practical aspects of this process, and definition of the main challenges facing the new culture of publications: namely dynamic nature of information, improvement of visualization of the humanities. The authors present interdisciplinary research, which investigate well-known forms of scientific and educational publications for the humanities in the context of modern web information technologies and suggest a new approach to the representation of publications in online historical journals enabling to resolve the said problems. This article covers the implementation of this approach in electronic research and educational journal В«IstoryaВ», the results and special aspects of the development and comparison with other approaches.
