THE USE OF THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN THE MUSICAL FIELD - A NECESSITY?!
Abstract
Ever since ancient times, the Project Management appeared as a tool for planning, coordinating and controlling the activities. The specialized literature appreciates that the project management is the best way to organize the activities in the modern institutions. The school is such an institution, and it is common practice to have projects developed in schools or by schools in Romania. Furthermore, it is well-known that each school should have a high potential of earning resources and credibility by participating in the institutional cooperation projects (the partnerships with the local, regional, national and international communities). In this context, it is useful and necessary to prepare specialists in the field of Project Management. Most people have some theoretical knowledge about the techniques used in the project management, but not all of them know how to apply them logically and in an organized manner. Certain project management knowledge is particularly useful both to the pupils, and students, and to the teachers or future teachers. Starting from this necessity, the learning subject of Project Management has nowadays been adapted to the specificity of the various specialized fields, becoming an integral part of the curriculum plans in the secondary and higher educational system or of the training syllabus. Thus, for instance, the Master’s Degree Programme students in the National Music University in Bucharest study the subject of Cultural (Artistic) Management. This article wishes to analyze and value the propositions the Master’s Degree Programme students in the National Music University in Bucharest made in projects they prepared for the courses in Cultural Management, thus answering the question in the title: The Use of the Project Management in the musical field - a necessity?!
