PROSPECTS OF RECREATIONAL-ENVIRONMENTAL TOURISM IN THE SOUTH URAL (RUSSIA)

Abstract

Ecotourism represents a significant share in modern world tourism, a distinctive feature of which is visiting areas that have not been subjected to anthropogenic transformations and impacts, and compliance with environmental safety. In Russia, eco-tourism is not developed as intensively as in Western countries, but it has good prospects associated with the availability of unique tourist resources. The Chelyabinsk region (South Ural) is one of such regions that have the necessary potential for the development of this area of tourism. In the Chelyabinsk region, four specially protected natural areas of federal importance, as well as 20 hunting and botanical reserves and 158 natural monuments are identified. Specially protected areas include the Ilmen State Reserve with the branch «Museum-Reserve Arkaim», part of the South Ural State Nature Reserve and national parks «Zyuratkul» and «Taganay”. Ecological tourism has a recreational basis and it is more appropriate to talk about recreational and ecological tourism. In the South Ural, recreational tourism is quite widely developed, aimed at rehabilitation, recreation, rehabilitation and treatment, prevention of diseases, maintenance of efficiency. This article examines the promising natural resources of the South Ural, which have great potential for the development of recreational and ecological tourism.
