QUALITY OF LIFE – SOCIAL (SOCIOLOGICAL) ASPECTS
Abstract
The paper deals with defining the nature and a brief description of the contents of the quality of life on the basis of foreign and domestic literary sources. It refers to its essence, the fundamental aspects and factors (subjective and objective) that will determine its level. At the same time it deals with the problem domains and indicators of quality of life (subjective) that could be measured. It briefly presents selected findings from subjective understanding of quality of life in the region of Liptov (Slovak Republic), focused on the comparison of quality of life in the city (district level) and rural areas in three age categories - juniors, adults and seniors.
