DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE BALTIC STATES
Abstract
The Baltic States face serious socio-economic problems – high unemployment rates, the risk of poverty and the threat of depopulation. One of the solutions to these problems is the development of social entrepreneurship. The Baltic States have different experience in social entrepreneurship, which is affected by the public policy and activities of public organisations. The aim of the research paper is to examine the experience and trends in social entrepreneurship in the Baltic States. Quantitative and qualitative research methods were employed to achieve the aim. The research shows that the Baltic States have different social business regulation and support mechanisms for social enterprises which influence the development of social entrepreneurship in the country.
