CRITICAL REVIEW ON NEW FORMS OF SOCIALIZATION OF ART IN DIGITAL CULTURE

Abstract

Since Prehistory, artistic representations have gained a key place in the understanding of everyday life, but in recent times there have been changes that affect, among others, to their original religious, social, political or educational functions. The main goal of this paper is to identify the most important and recent discourses of art following the hypothesis that there is a certain degree of dissociation between the functions of today art compared to those of its past based on its new forms of socialization within the context of digital culture. Through an artistic-historiographical analysis, case studies will be addressed based on artistic productions rooted not only in the collective or in collaborative strategies, but also pedagogical. Likewise, theories of authors such as Arthur C. Danto or Reinaldo Laddaga will be considered, in order to clarify the state of the art regarding to the foundations of those artistic practices that encourage the generation of such changes. As conclusion, it will be figured out, in this sense, how far, today, art world, like any other, evolves towards the inclusion of digital technology, and how it can be opened up and democratized to the benefit of the public.
