Abstract

The conducted research concerns the self-reflection of young teachers as a factor identifying their professional needs. The theoretical assumptions referred to the concept of self-improvement. Moreover, the concept of an open intellectual / author's personality / intentional man and self-understanding was referred to. The aim of the article is to show the importance of visiting blogs by the young teachers (in the context of their self-development). Research questions concerning motivation to satisfy their professional needs were formulated; goals and tasks that they put in their professional and personal development and what information on the blogs provide them with the opportunity to identify and broaden their knowledge and professional experience. The diagnostic survey method was used in the research (author's questionnaire addressed to teachers and analysis of blogs used by teachersВ’). 60 teachers completed the survey. In addition, 30 blogs visited by teachers (up to 5 years in the profession) were analyzed. The analysis of surveys and blogs created by young teachers allowed to indicate which goals and contents are important to them, with which concepts they associate their motivation to meet their professional needs. Preliminary results of the research allowed to deduce the directions of professional self-reflection in relation to the individual needs of the surveyed teachers. The results of the research may help to initiate a discussion on what tasks in the education of future teachers are given too little attention and on the directions of modifying educational programs in order to focus them on developing self-awareness, independence and the ability to build the personality of future teachers.
