Abstract

One of the most important organizational resources is human resource of that organization, therefore organizations attempt to increase job satisfaction of employees. Employee job satisfaction is an attitude that people have about their jobs and the organizations in which they perform these jobs. Employee job satisfaction is generally recognized as a multifaceted construct that includes employee feelings about a variety of both intrinsic and extrinsic job elements. The result of previous research provide a broad view on single determinants and variables affecting employee job satisfaction. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and indicate how different organizational variables such as: leadership style, organizational commitment, work family enrichment and autonomy simultaneously affect employee job satisfactions. Based on data from 274 surveys with Polish small and medium sized enterpriseВ’s employees, we used fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis to investigate several combination of organizational variables mentioned above affect employee job satisfaction. The results reported in the paper confirm that high levels of employee job satisfaction can be achieved through multiple combinations of organizational predictors. This study contributes to the literature by investigating the collective effect of different organizational predictors on employee job satisfaction. What more the study extends the literature by using an uncommon methodology in the field of management, the fuzzy set methodology.
