HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE YAKUTS: THE IDEA OF SELF-GOVERNMENT

Abstract

The historical consciousness of the nation is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Under the historical consciousness in science is understood as system of knowledge, the totality of ideas, views, traditions, rituals, customs, ideas, concepts, on the basis of which representatives of the people form their worldview, ideals, beliefs and value orientations, awareness of their place in the world. The idea of self-government of the Yakut people passed a long historical path - from the entry of Yakutia into the Russian state in the 17th century, to the present. Yakutia received an autonomous rights in 1922, when the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was formed. Outstanding representatives of the Yakut people fought for the autonomous rights of Yakutia during period from 1660 to 1922. In the article covered the essence of the evolution of the idea of self-management through the prism of activity as individual fighters for self-government in Yakutia, as well as public and political organizations such as the Steppe Duma, the Yakut Union, the political party Yakut Labor Union of Federalists and the Confederalist movement. The problem of the incipience and transformation of the idea of self-management has been comprehensively studied. In this work was used an archival sources, articles and publications related to the self-government of Yakutia.
