THE PROFESSIONAL SELF-DETERMINATION OF STUDENTS: THE DYNAMICS OF THE TRANSFORMATION IN RUSSIA
Abstract
In this article, we examine problems of professional and educational trajectories choice by students of universities in the conditions of transforming society. This article based on the results of sociological poles taken of students of universities, conducted from the middle 90th to this time using the same instruments. We have revealed several tendencies in the professional self-determination of Russian students, among them are: the decline of orientation on employment according to specialty gained in the university, the strengthening of orientation on a gain of a second university degree, the raise of pragmatism in motives of profession choice, the increase of a part-time employment of students during the period of studies in the university. The revealed tendencies interpreted by the author as symptoms of the shift of the professional self-determination model, which taking place in a modern society, which inclined to the constant transformations and changes.
