THE CONCEPTS IN THE SEMANTIC STRUCTURE OF THE COMPONENTS INCLUDING IN THE ROOT WORD SLOTS OF TURKISH ORIGIN ADJECTIVES

Abstract

Cognitive linguistics has already taken its place in the concept paradigm in contemporary world linguistics. The establishment and development of exactly cognitive linguistics in modern times is one of the most important problems of this period linguistics. Cognitive linguistic studies the language as a cognitive mechanism playing a certain role in transformation and coding of data. Investigating the semantic structure of the components included in the root word slots in the conceptual context is a completely new field for contemporary Turkish linguistics. The concept has existed in national cultural consciousness in its psycholinguistic position and is regarded as the invariant meaning of the semantic field. If we consider the concepts as the dynamic events interconnecting language, consciousness, and culture, then they can almost appear at the discursive level in the interconnection of all phenomena. In a linguoculturology approach, the concept has got numerous structures consisting of broad cultural background. The content of the concept consists of two main parts: notion and cultural background. The notion part of concept constitutes the lexical meaning of the word and is mentioned in lexicographic sources. The cultural background forms the connotation of the word and is partly reflected in the dictionaries. Any concept remains unchanged over time, but the enrichment of cultural views and knowledge continues always. The cultural background of the concept changes more, but the nuclear part as a rule remains unchanged.
