ARCHITECTURE OF THE ELEMENTS - WATER - AN ATTEMPT TO MASTER THE NEW LIVING ENVIRONMENT.
Abstract
Humankind was born in optimal conditions for itself, in the sun, however, as the civilization developed and the population of people on Earth increased, man was forced to leave them in pursuit of new places to live and, as a result reached even the least friendly areas of our globe. The expansion embraced all continents with very diverse geo-climatic conditions and now we are trying to colonize an even newer environment, i.e. seas and oceans. Living on the high seas or oceans is actually an attempt to master one of the elements, the element that is life-giving but at the same time deadly. With the increase in the population, we will be forced to settle in places that so far have not been considered favourable to residents, living on water, under water or on and under water simultaneously now seem plausible solutions. Such visions are not anything innovative, and the first experimental attempts to live under water have already been made, among others, by Jacques-Yves Cousteau. For now, these visions are in the phase of projects or experiments. The article is a presentation of current attempts to live on the water and futuristic visions that may be implemented in the future.
