CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION – TOOLS INTENDED FOR DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

Abstract

Purpose: Creativity constitutes a source of formation of internal innovation in companies executing scientific and research projects. Creativity and innovation constitute an integration of various fields and perspectives of perceiving change. The effect of synergy of team work can bring more benefits than searching for innovation outwards. The key questions made in the paper are as follows: is there a dependency between creativity and the source of formation of innovation in enterprises? What are the sources of creativity used by enterprise managers when incorporating innovative solutions? Design/methodology/approach: The conducted research included a Desk Research analysis of the projects submitted as part of the Opolskie Voivodeship Regional Operational Programme - Enterprise Innovation measure and telephone in-depth interviews (TDI) with company managers/owners in the scope of innovation and organisation management. The sampling was intentional. The study also utilised the Enterprise Optimism 2016 study, conducted on a group of 482 enterprises. Findings: Due to the conducted research information in accordance with the categorical key have been obtained. The experts pointed to a number of factors affecting the building of an innovative organisation, i.e. human capital, organisational culture, leadership and business environment. Research and practical limitations/implications: Due to the chosen qualitative i quantitative research approach, the presented results are not representative. The nature of the presented study was however exploratory and will be expanded in further research.
