MOTIVATIONAL METHOD AS A MEANS OF RETURNING INVESTMENTS IN TRAINING EMPLOYER-SPONSORED STUDENTS
Abstract
The article provides data on motivational method of teaching students when developing a new sanitary and hygienic product intended for the use in food processing industry and agro-industrial complex enterprises. The research objective was introduction of a new methodology for teaching students when the method of "Game constructing " becomes "Motivational" and is included in the educational process that enables the establishment of universal, general professional and professional competencies of graduates with the opportunity to return on investments made by the companies (any food production) to the university. The proposed methodology, as well as the technique of "Game construction” is normally designed to teach students for more than one lesson, during one semester or, if necessary, 2 semesters. Sometimes this process can start already with the first year of education. Everything depends on the specific objective. In our case, the objective was to provide a student with the opportunity to participate, or, if he is a gifted listener, to lead the process of manufacturing a new sanitary and hygienic product which will be further introduced and utilized at the company sponsoring his education .The essence of the method is that motivation becomes a premise for using the method of "Game construction" where the process of manufacturing a new product is enabled in the form of a "game" that begins at the very beginning of a semester when students embarked on the basics of the discipline related to hygiene and sanitation in food industries and resulted in the receipt of a definite result, namely establishment of a new product formulation accompanied by the formation of students' competencies stipulated by FSES HE in which systemic and critical thinking, development and implementation of projects, teamwork and leadership, communication, intercultural interaction, self-organization and self-development (including health preservation), in addition, general professional competencies are formed, such as general professional practice, consideration of environmental factors, legal grounds of professional activity, contemporary technologies, equipment and scientific bases of professional activity, presentation of results of professional activity, analysis of risks to human and animal health. Further on the methods of scientific research are enabled where students are closely involved in research work (activity) in research institutes which are usually equipped with the most advanced scientific research equipment and have a highly qualified pedagogical staff at disposal. In the conclusive final section of the methodology students are expected to participate with their research work at the all-university conference where each student presents data obtained in the process of participating in this entertaining game to the organizing committee and the jury. This presentation can include data on packaging of the product, its stability, specific activity, etc.
