MANAGEMENT OF FDI INFLOW INTO REGIONS OF SLOVAKIA
Abstract
The Slovak Republic has a long-standing tradition within many industries. An example of this is the engineering, chemical, electrical, woodworking and food industries. The Slovak Republic is considered as one of the leaders in the automotive industry. The automotive industry in Slovakia produces about one million vehicles per year. For several years, the Slovak Republic has been awarded the first prize in terms of the number of cars produced per capita. The main objective of the paper is to present development of foreign direct investment within the Slovak Republic. This will be analyzed based on the foreign direct investments in regions of Slovakia. Investments are the most important factor in the development of the economy, through which economic policy is implemented. Investments reflect the use of financial resources with a view to further capitalizing on them. When investing, the investor expects to obtain a precise financial return, interest or a different positive effect or benefit. Foreign direct investment means a category of international investment that interprets the intent of a resident entity of an economy (a direct investor) to acquire a permanent interest in a company located in another economy.
