Abstract

The purpose for this paper is to present a status of the perception of the Oil and Gas Master Program students, about digitalization (AI) and soft competences, before the pandemic situation and after the pandemic, when the war started near the Romanian border. EU migration, global economic situation, crises and climate change, IT new challenges (global networks), robotics and the new way of human being interaction contribute to a new society, to a new business approach. The question is if our next generation are equipped with sustainable skills and competencies. That was a status before pandemic situation. We have a virus at global level, war near Romania. In this new context the questions are what kind of competences the students need for a sustainable future? What about digitalization? What about the impact on the environment? Could digitalization be considered an art? Could art be a solution to help students to absorb digitalization competences easier? When science meets art, one can discuss about the sustainable future for our next generation. The paper intends to present the personal point of view of the Oil and Gas students from the Master Program at Ovidius University of Constanza, about digitalization competences preparation, offered by the University and the business environment, before and after the pandemic situation. Based on that, a new vision about the organization of the future would be presented. As a method, a questionnaire was applied for around 125 students.
