THE LIFE IN A METROPOLIS: AN INTEGRATED APPROACH TO TOURISM DEVELOPMENTAND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Abstract
The global problem of the XXI century is the problem of municipal solid waste (MSW). Exactly the problem of solid waste, which concerns everyone, is the most urgent and requires most attention because it affects all Russian cities without any exception (especially the cities of Moscow region and the resort area). The article demonstrates the importance of the ecological approach, as the most attractive for the tourism, when choosing the technological criterion for the preparation of the MSW for recycling. The authors studied the global practice trends in addressing the waste management problems in light of today's requirements, and developed an integrated approach, implying the most complete information about the state of the environment. The article proposes to create recycling industry, which in turn should be based on the implementation of an effective system of separate collection of useful MSW components. The developed technological solutions aim at increasing the efficiency of the integrated management of the MSW as well as enhancing ecological safety of sanitary cleaning system of the city against solid waste. The authors are talking about optimization of the integrated management of the MSW and its individual operations that is relevant to all countries, as well as the enhancement of integrity in utilization of the MSW as technogenic raw materials. All technological aspects of waste management are considered in the context of the environmental protection, economics, resource saving and energy conservation.
