KOUMISS THERAPY AS AN UPCOMING TREND FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM IN RUSSIA

Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the points of efficient recreational management of natural resources in the steppe area of Russia. It is the authors’ opinion that koumiss therapy – the traditional for the region kind of tourism – is necessary to consider as an upcoming trend in the development of recreations in steppes of the Russian Federation. The history of the koumiss therapy at the territory of Russia and the USSR is analyzed in the paper; it was noted that the organized at the beginning of the XX century net of health resorts, practicing koumiss therapy stopped the existence with the USSR decay. The special attention is paid to the steppe trans border region of Russia – the Orenburg region. Taking into account the competitive advantages of the region steppe climate, possibilities of landscape therapy, maturity of horse breeding), the authors came to conclusion on advisability and perspective for revival of the koumiss therapy and modernization of the health resort net, practicing koumiss therapy in the Orenburg region.
