Abstract

In this paper we examine how cross-cultural aspects influence Kazakh and Russian students when they form the image of the managerВ’s profession. Our research based on the data of comparative sociological survey of Kazakh and Russian university students studying management from the first to the fourth year of study. We have found that the share of Kazakh students, who plan to work as a manager in business, or in public administration sphere, and who has an experience of such work is bigger than that of Russian students. This difference based on the studentsВ’ self-esteem and the awareness of their future profession. Kazakh students estimate their awareness of future profession higher, than Russian students. The role of mass-media in in the professional image formation process evaluated much higher by a Kazakh students, than Russian. For Russian students it turned out to be more important the immediate face-to-face communication, like communication with teachers during classes and communication with parents at home.
