THE EVALUATION OF THE IMPROVEMENT SYSTEM OF PRODUCTION PROCESSES IN A SELECTED COMPANY

Abstract

An important aspect of the company's operation is its focus on continuous improvement. Importantly, it is not enough to just be aware of the importance of this fact. It is first of all necessary to know what areas of the company's operations should be improved, to what extent changes should be made, which of the available improvement methods will be appropriate and what are the expected benefits from introducing improvement measures. Enterprises implementing improvement actions in various areas of their activity are not always successful in this field. Therefore, the aim of the work was to evaluate the system of improvement of key processes (production) of the selected enterprise. The additional aim was to indicate factors affecting the improvement. For the purpose of the study, bidirectional surveys were conducted: for the management team and for staff having a direct impact on the production processes (downstream). The results showed that traditional quality management tools do not give the management team a full picture of the company's situation because they do not allow assessment of many factors conditioning success. Therefore, the need to supplement the obtained results with direct research addressed to the operational level staff was noticed. The conducted research allowed to evaluate the system of improvement of production processes and to indicate the recommendation of the use of methods and tools in the improvement activities of the selected entity.
