SATISFACION WITH DOCTORAL STUDIES - CASE STUDY FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AT UNIVERSITY OF PREЉOV IN PREЉOV
Abstract
The Academic Ranking and Rating Agency - ARRA annually evaluates the faculties of universities in the Slovak Republic. In 2013 the recorded level of interest in studying a PhD at universities was at its lowest. ARRA assumes that over the next few years, this trend will not change. Because the doctoral studies in Slovakia are the highest degree of education, the survey was therefore conducted to identify individual aspects of satisfaction with doctoral studies at the Faculty of Management during the winter semester 2013/2014. The doctoral degree programs at the Faculty of Management are offered since 2006. The main purpose of this paper is to evaluate the overall job satisfaction amongst the PhD students. This evaluation is furthermore completed with the evaluation of the aspects determined by selected independent variables. The selected independent variables are subjected to further statistical processing. The goal of this survey is to identify features and basis for further improvement of the quality and competitiveness of doctoral studies at the Faculty of management between faculties with economic focus in the Slovak Republic.
