Abstract

Building innovation is a controversial subject, because this industry has unique features and peculiarities that cannot always be framed by the classical innovation management theory. To improve competitiveness and meet the needs of society and customers, the construction industry needs to innovate successfully by improving strategies to increase the performance of the construction organization and respond to the needs of stakeholders. Successful innovation requires effective cooperation among different stakeholders in construction projects or various firms to achieve a common goal by establishing a collaborative network. This article aims to investigate the network of partner relationships in a construction project based on Building Information Modeling (BIM) innovative system. The research methodology is based on using the social network as a method of quantitative analysis of the data. Through the analysis of the network the interactions of the stakeholders can be quantified and visualized. The results highlight both the partner relationships and the roles played by the key actors in the exchange of information through BIM solutions during the projectВ’s implementation.. This has the effect of improving decision-making, through better communication between the project team, integration of design and construction activities, more efficient designs, and the development of unique production.
