INCREASING THE ENVIRONMENTAL CULTURE – A PRIORITY ROLE OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Abstract
Today, environmental education is a priority issue in predicting the ethical attitude to the environment to prevent its further degradation. The Southern Urals is a unique region of the Russian Federation; there are more than 15 thousand industrial facilities polluting the environment of the region. Negative trends in the region contribute to a deterioration of quality of life. The aim of this article is the development of a regional environmental aspect in education focused on the formation of an environmental culture. The peculiarities of the Southern Ural region should be taken into account to improve the environmental culture. The regional environmental aspect in education can be implemented through multidisciplinary projects in environmental education and social ecology. An analysis of the state of environmental education in Russia allows us to consider the need for an integrated approach to the problems of the formation of an environmental culture. Lifelong universal education is essential in this process; in the levels of continuous environmental education, the most attention should be given to higher education institutions of all areas of specialization.
