DISPROPORTION OF SOCIAL-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF NORTHERN REGIONS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE SAKHA (YAKUTIA) REPUBLIC)
Abstract
The Arctic development is closely related with the growth of labor potential and requires rise in number of population and labor resources according to economic, political and military interests of the state. In this sense, the problem of social-economic and economic-geographical development of Arctic and Northern regions and its monitoring has vital importance. Currently, research on social, economic, demographical processes on municipal level of the Arctic Russia and foreign countries has great importance. This research is based on quantitative and qualitative social-economic data, official documents of all branches of power. The article is dedicated to analysis and comparison of social-economic indicators of northern municipalities of Russia in 2006-2016. The level of differentiation of Arctic and Northern regions of Russia is revealed in the article. The data is visualized with thematic maps with the of GIS-technologies. Special focus will be made on the problems of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the largest Northern territory of the Russian Federation.
