ABOUT CRITERION OF PHILOSOPHICAL CONVERSION
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of seeking the criterion which can verify individual`s spiritual transformation by means of philosophical conversion on the way of gaining one`s nature. Experience of the unlimited cosmic whole which usually happens with an individual in one`s childhood as a feeling of the cosmic immensity of one`s small motherlandis takenas a criterion. The basis of such experience is declared to be imagination freed from limitation of the discursive totality. As soon as childhood experience of the unlimited is principally indescribable, the authors analyze the difference between two ways of affectation of imagination by the unlimited that are common to the European culture. The difference between cosmic and oceanic feelings that was pointed by French historian of the ancient philosophy P. Hadot is interpreted here as the difference between dynamically and mathematically sublime by I. Kant. Transcendental deduction of this difference enables to speak about its objective character and makes possible to establish the individual`s feeling of the unlimited cosmic whole as the criterion of philosophical conversion. The authors use analytical method, transcendental deduction and deconstruction.
