RELATIONSHIP SATISFACTION IN A GROUP OF SUBJECTS WHO ARE PRONE TO MANIPULATIONS

Abstract

Recently, due to the widespread occurrence of the manipulations in the public life and interpersonal relationships as well, the study of the effect of the persons manipulative tendencies on his relationships in the group is of great current interest. The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship satisfaction in the group of subjects who are prone to manipulations. The methods of the study were survey, sociometry method, conversation, observation. The study involved 85 people, members of 4 groups. The study results showed that there is a more positive attitude in the group to the members who have a low level of the manipulative tendencies, than even to the persons with a medium level. Despite the fact that they tend to take a leading position in the group, subjects with manipulative tendencies in behavior produce significantly more negative selections than all the other members of the group. That is why it stands to reason that they have a lower relationship satisfaction in the group than the rest of its members. Moreover, the higher the level of Machiavellianism in the group members, the lower their satisfaction with relationships in the group.
