A STUDY ON A FLOATING RESTAURANT'S SUPERSTRUCTURE
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present a design of a metallic structure. The structure was obtained by reusing of an old barge, which belongs to the Romanian navigation company. In order to respect the UN Sustainable Development goal and the COP21 objectives, the Waterborne sector in Europe is increasing and fits for next generations. Galati, a Romanian port on Danube river, with its cliff that have a length of 2.48 km, itВ’s included among 250 European ports and navigable inland waterway that measure 40.000 km. The entertainment floating space is a necessary solution that develops, in a modern and ecological way, the Danube cliff. A planning simulation is made using PUNCH HOME DESIGN soft. The metallic structure is considered and its geometry was modeled with SolidWorks license. The CFD analysis for air movement direction, corresponding to the barge superstructure, is done. This architectural project will be purposed to be included in the urban planning plan realized by the urban planning department of the Galati City Hall. Conclusions mentioned at the end of this work show that the new solution proposed by this paper is also an economic one and increase the interest in visiting the Danube cliff of Galati.
