Abstract

Competent management of innovation processes in European regions is considered as the key to the development of knowledge economy. The effective use of achievements of research and development sector with regard to socio-economic development is actually a central aspect of this process. Both the efficient process of technology transfer and knowledge commercialization constitute an important attribute of the ability to create economic development based on new technologies. Hitherto gained Polish experiences point to numerous barriers. Transfer of knowledge from academic institutions to enterprises and social surrounding may occur through different channels, including on the one hand the simplest ones like education and on the other hand such channels like technological start-ups. Understanding all expectations universities and/or research institutes make attempts to deal with this challenge. Change leaders try to create ecosystems of knowledge commercialization that is understood in modern way. Discussed researches were conducted at university of technology which is the biggest research and development entity in regional innovation system of Malopolskie Voivodeship. The research aimed to identify components and analyze roles of actors that are a part of ecosystem of knowledge commercialization at the AGH University of Science and Technology. Results may become a kind of incentive to create and improve ecosystems of knowledge commercialization at universities of technologies.
