INDO-EUROPEAN ORIGINS IN THE FORMATION OF THE ANCIENT TURKIC CULTURE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF ETHNO-LINGUISTIC MATERIALS OF SIBERIAN TURKIC PEOPLES)
Abstract
Origin of ancient Turkic tribes remains an important issue. As the ancient used to say, "In one thing there is what we know and what we do not know." Therefore, the proposed article focuses on "what we do not know" or rather "do not know much." On the other hand, we know that ethnogenesis of any ethnos (in this case ancient Turkic tribes) proceeds in a long time in the interaction of diverse processes. On that basis the formation process of the ancient Turkic culture should be divided into two conditional stages - formative (origins of ethnogenesis) and historical (the formation of ethnicity). At the formative stage, there were the conditions for the prerequisites of future ethnoculture components. From this perspective, the origins of the ancient Turks ethnogeny trace to a common regional culture of the early nomads of the Eurasian steppes, in the western part of modern Mongolia and southern Siberia. The formation of Proto-Turkic ethnolinguistic community was gradually taking place in the depths of this territory, mainly in the conditions of the Scythian-Siberian steppe cultural unity existence (7th-3rd centuries BC), actually continued in subsequent Hun-Sarmatian time(the end of the 3rd BC – V century AD The main representatives of early nomadic people of the steppes were North Iranian (Scythian-Sarmatian) tribes. Therefore, emerging Proto-Turkic culture had a certain influence of Iranian-speaking ethnic groups of Scythian-Siberian era. But so far the problem has not yet become the subject of special study, although some researchers have noted the importance of this period in the formation of ancient Turkic era [1, 2, p.185, 586; 3, p.129-135; 4, p. 65-67]. Accordingly, the purpose of this report is areasoned attempt to demonstrate the role of the Scythian-Siberian era in the cultural genesis of the ancient Turks. In the study of ethnogenetic processes one of the most interesting and important problems is to identify the substrate components involved in the formation of any ethnic group or groups of related peoples. It should consider the complexity of the absolute determination of ethnogenesis reference point, all the more in many cases prerequisites of ethnogenesis took its origin from different linguistic, historical and cultural communities.
