BENEFITS AND BARRIERS TO THE INTRODUCTION OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE IN SLOVAK ENTERPRISES - EMPIRICAL STUDY
Abstract
Currently, companies are trying to implement and use support tools for decision-making. Common information systems are no longer sufficient for precise data analyzing and creating relevant documents for decision-making. The reason is the amount of information and therefore choosing the right information is the problem for many managers. Business Intelligence is a tool that can work effectively with information and can create reports and other documents that are helpful in the decision making process. Paper describes the main benefits of using this tool. Paper also discusses the issues of implementation and its barriers. The main objective of this paper is to highlight the benefits of the implementation of Business Intelligence and on the sample of Slovak companies to analyze its requirements and perception of Business Intelligence and its advantages. The study is based on our research and compares the results with existing studies.
