RESULTS ON THE BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL USED TO MULTIPLY SWEET POTATO VARIETIES UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF ROMANIA

Abstract

The research was carried out between 2016-2017 at Research and Development Station for Plant Culture on Sands Dabuleni on sandy soil with reduced natural fertility. Five Korean sweet potato varieties (Yulmi, Juhwangmi, Hayanmi, KSP 1, KSC 1) were studied, using planting rooted shoots and non-rooted shoots. The results show increase in the number of tuberous roots, with 0.42 large tubers/plant and 0.65 small tubers, by using rooted shoots for planting, compared to planting of fresh cut shoots. Were observed Yulmi and Juhwangmi varieties by rooted shoots planted with differences of 9366.83 to 23542.32 kg / ha, statistically to control variety KSC 1, that has been to 22023.53 kg / ha in variant with rooted shoots and 19041.67 kg / ha in the case of non-rooted shoots. Under the study conditions, the percentage of commercial tubers ranged from 75.3-91.6%, showing early varieties, Juhwangmi, which recorded 2.3-2.5 tubers / plant with a diameter of 6.05-6.19 cm and Yulmi with 2.45 tubers / plant with a diameter of 5.22-5.69 cm.
