Abstract

For decades there has been a general presupposition that the main aim of an academic degree is to guarantee good career prospects and fulfillment of economic and other material needs of an individual in future. However, recently the focus has finally shifted from the concept of personal welfare to the concept of global wellbeing and universal sustainability. This positive change has been embraced by the leading educational institutions which resulted in adapting the curricular to the modern scenario of the common good, implementing not only disciplines raising social responsibility of students but a whole range of activities (including extracurricular ones) aimed at nurturing professionals aware of ethical and moral values of the humanity and willing to contribute to the community. The article considers Lomonosov Moscow State University Business School (MSU BS) experience of implementing the comprehensive ERS (Ethics – Responsibility – Sustainability) component of the curricular and its realization in Bachelor of Management programme aimed at educating competitive ethical and strategically thinking business leaders who are aware of their civic responsibility towards the community.
