Abstract

This paper focuses on answering question: What are the ideal and most important skills and personality traits that project managers need to have. The aim of the paper is to describe the significance of project manager competencies needed in current changing environment. Project manager is key to the success of each project. For this reason, staffing projects with managers who have the right competences is crucial to achieve project goal. The success of project managers is mainly related to abilities and skills that they have. The challenge and dynamics of todayВ’s environment require the project manager to develop technical skills, leadership and strategic management skills. Technical skills are essential to project management, but they are not enough in todayВ’s competitive global market. The contribution is the identification of different technical, leadership and strategic management abilities. Implication of this paper is gather available information and create framework of project manager competences in todayВ’s world.
