WHAT IS THE ROLE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE IN GEOGRAPHY EDUCATION?
Abstract
The issue of the organizational culture of geographic education nowadays is becoming more and more relevant as it relates to a number of problems in the geographical community. Such are, for example, the lack of organization of geography teachers, the poor activity of methodological unions in secondary schools, the limited opportunities for creative geography teachers, the discontinued printing of emblematic magazines, etc. Despite the fact that the activities of the Bulgarian Geographical Society were resumed, and that a new professional organization was established - the Bulgarian Association of Geographers and Regionalists, the problems of the community are not solved. The search for the reasons for this, as well as the possible solutions, inevitably lead to the organizational culture of geographic education (understood as organization). Here the organization presents itself as a key factor in the success of geographic education, in overcoming the above-mentioned problems, in promoting geography to society. Following questions need to be answered: What does the organizational culture mean?, How does it manifest?, What specific characteristics does it have?, What does organizational geographic culture mean?, What specific characteristics does it have?, What basic meanings does it have?
