Abstract

Process oriented quality management systems are applied by successful business enterprises. With the process approach these organisations can manage their operations effectively. The defining of organisational processes is useful to understand what organisation really does, the measurement of these processes helps to identify development opportunities or necessity. So the organisations can use quality improvement projects based on data and indicators which provide increasing organizational performance greatly. The Hungarian higher education system is now facing a period of a new reform process started in 2011. The recent changes in the Hungarian university system are due, on one hand to the structural reorganisation and finance of the system and on the other hand to the growing competition among universities, with the aim of improving the quality of service. In this competitive environment only those institutions can survive which provide effective operation, and quality education and environment to their students. This concept is not a new issue at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The Department of Management and Corporate Economics as the flagship of teaching and researching quality management at the University looks for opportunities to give practical answer. Based on this the purpose of my paper is to demonstrate different examples at the different level of processes in higher education. I give concrete examples to define indicators and to use these for quality improvement: indicators are such as with their experience about course, results of course performance, data of test, goals of quality improvement are increasing student satisfaction, creating evaluation of professor or development of curriculum.
