Abstract

The article deals with the current state of cooperation of a selected regional university with practice. The case study focuses on selected aspects of the trilateral relationship of students, the university, and companies. The article describes these relations, their formation, maintenance, and the roles of the individual participants of this triangle. Each member of this triangular relationship has their own visions, goals, and ideas about the form, manner, and intensity of cooperation. Each group of participants has its own further classification. The group of students is increasingly seeking practical courses, internships, and networking events, where they can meet potential employers and try to apply their knowledge and skills in practice. Finding out about the real conditions of the market is the key parameter for success in the labor market and for a happy life in general. Employers demand humble, hardworking, and motivated graduates who have acquired theoretical knowledge and ideally the information and experience of what they can expect in the real labor market. Some companies follow the path of their own complementary education system. A high-quality graduate is a great marketing tool and advertisement for the university itself. Universities are looking for financial partners for their education, science, and research priorities. The trends of modern world universities are moving towards creating exclusive long-term partnerships with companies. My case study is dedicated to setting the goals of such collaboration from a studentВ’s perspective, from an employerВ’s point of view, as well as from a universityВ’s perspective. To fulfill these objectives, a pilot questionnaire survey was conducted for student and employer groups. Furthermore, personal interviews with university staff, recruiters, and business owners representing companies were performed.
