Abstract

In an entrepreneurial university, not only the system, structure and strategy are of paramount importance, but also the entrepreneurial culture, which is a serious change in the culture that has existed so far at the university [1], [8]. In the non-economic fields of social activity, the expansion of economics and management takes place - not only in the area of higher education. Universities make use of economic logic, solutions developed in the field of management and translate the concepts of education drawn from them. Universities increasingly need to create strategies, strategic and financial controlling, brand management, quality, processes and projects, as well as human resource management. Many non-public universities function based on business rules, but the issues addressed also concern public universities. The transformation towards an entrepreneurial university is therefore a lasting trend that has been developing over the past few decades around the world. Private universities compete with each other, as well as with public universities, which means that transformation of management methods in these types of universities are a market regulatory mechanisms and quite common management practices around the world. The aim of the article is to show the role and importance of the entrepreneurial university in the higher education sector in Poland. The research methodology in the article was based on the analysis of the literature of the subject.
