LOGISTICS SYSTEMS PRODUCTIVITY ASSESSMENT

Abstract

The article presents the essence of productivity, the level of which, as developed countries' experience shows, is a significant factor improving the competitiveness of businesses. The notion, as well as features and multidimensionality of logistics systems have been presented. It has been determined that a well operating logistics system should be characterized by: effectiveness and efficiency, and its processes should guarantee appropriate quality. At the same time the system should be productive, profitable and innovative, guaranteeing proper quality of work conditions. The article presents a methodology for assessment of logistics system operational efficiency. In the conclusions of the paper, the role and importance of logistics systems' productivity has been emphasized that, in the contemporary world, becomes one of the sources of economic growth, social progress and improvement in the quality of life. The result of the analysis is the developed model of a multi-level productivity assessment system in logistics. The summary emphasizes the importance of developing the new productivity assessment model for improving practices focused on productivity growth.
