THE PARENTAL AUTHORITY IN THE DEBATE ABOUT THE CONSTITUTIONAL STATUS OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN ROMANIA

Abstract

The debate concerning the constitutional wright of freedom and religious education reached maximum level in Romania at the start of this year. In this debate has employed both estate authority and also the public opinion: social structures, cultural institution, mass-media, the NGO’s and so on. The reason was the act of contestation at the Constitutional Court of the default enrollment of the Romanian scholars at the classes of religious education. The debate was centered on the legal write of individual liberty of students, on the condition of free choice in favor of against the religious education. At present, the religious education in the cultural space of Europe is a very important subject in the context of 25 years from the revolution against atheism and communism. The studies shoes that the Romanian people are interested in a spiritual life, even if many people don’t have a liturgical life. The status of religious education is quite unsure from the legal point of view in the Romanian society, because the constitutional authority decided that the default enrollment of the scholars at the classes is illegal. Therefore, in this context the problem of parental authority is very little highlighted. What is his importance regarding the future and education of our young people, here’s very challenging topic in the Romanian pedagogy and society. In our research we will try to analyze the problem of parental authority from the point of view of: psychopedagogical, theological, and social value of religious education at the Romanian young people from today in the context of European paradigm.
