CULTURE OF THE ETHNOLOCAL COMMUNITY OF EVEN KAMCHATKA: TRADITIONS AND INNOVATIONS (BASED ON FOLKLORE AND ETHNOGRAPHIC EXPEDITIONS)
Abstract
The material of expedition ethnographic field studies highlights the history and culture of one of the interesting and distinct ethnolocal groups of Evens living in the Kamchatka Territory. This group of Evens, which had come off the main massif of the Evens of Yakutia and resettled in the middle of the nineteenth century on the territory of modern Kamchatka, was influenced by a number of contact ethnoses, which left a mark on its cultural appearance and ethnographic features. Based on the population census of 1926-1927. Kamchatka Evens were divided into three groups. In the present-day Bystrinsky District Evens numbered 470 people; Evens of Tigil district 71 people were registered; Evens, wandering within the Olyutorsky district, there were 223 people. A brief description of the ethnolocal northern rural community is held in the context of its daily life system, social interactions and cultural practices.
