Abstract

People, who are not achieving common standards in their physical appearance or in their mentality, do not lead simple lives despite the declarations about their integration and inclusion in the current society systems. It is important to talk about their specific life situation, life feelings, self-reflection and the way of experiencing their world, especially with the children and youth by the means of literary art. This issue is elaborated into literary works with an intention to mediate life situation of people with special needs to intact population of readers on the basis of thorough study of their behaviour, social, psychological and physical implications and thus inconspicuously form their social attitudes. If a В‘messageВ’ connects with a creative talent, a convincing portrayal of the fictitious world is created, a portrayal, which shows the otherness to the reader in aesthetically effective way via the story as the specific intertextual organisation of the content of the work. This is true for the prose written by F. X. Stork Marcelo in the Real World (2009) focused on young adults as well as for a book by Mark Haddon The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2003) focused on the youth. F. X. Stork and M. Haddon built their story on the pretended reference to the people with Asperger syndrome. Both authors used in modelling of their protagonistВ’s world the auto-diegetic type of a narrator suffering from this syndrome. In both proses confrontation of the protagonistВ’s world with the society and a feature of detective inquest is present. In HaddonВ’s book a motif of inquest is developed and the prose has the characteristics of a mystery novel, while in StorkВ’s book, a component of detective inquest is indistinctive and it is in the service of fulfilling the message of the story.
