SELECTED ASPECTS THAT AFFECT THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

Abstract

The quality of life of a person with severe visual impairment can be and is influenced by a large number of variable factors. One of these factors is the personality of a person with severe visual impairment, which is then further influenced by the environment in which he grows up and then moves. In this paper we will focus on two / respectively three basic variables - the personality of an individual with severe visual impairment, his / her family and then his / her employment. The family of the people with visually impairment and then the occupational and their role in the quality of life of the people with visually impairment were and are still being examined through the IGA projects the co-researcher is the author of. The contribution will therefore include results from more than three years of research. In the first part of the paper we will focus on the issue of people with severe visual impairment, the family and possible parenthood of people with severe visual impairment and consequently on education, which affects the work ability of a person with severe visual impairment. With regard to the fact that man is a social creature, we will also look at how the lay and professional public place the work of a person with severe visual impairment. The paper is one of the outcomes of the following project: IGA_PdF_2017_013 entitled: В‘Quality of life in persons with special needs in the current research contextВ’.
