VULNERABILITY TO CORRUPTION IN STRUCTURES WITH CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to outline a generic framework for dealing with acts and facts of corruption within the structures with control responsibilities. We propose, integrating past findings and combining existing approaches, to present a two-way analytical view of the phenomenon of corruption manifested in such structures. Thus, our research has led us to a conceptual model that also aims to integrate empirical knowledge on the vulnerability to corruption of investigating agents and which is able to outline a significant image of the risk of their corruption. The research methods used to carry out this study involved an experimental investigation to assess the prevalence of the main forms of corruption at institutional level. The opportunities identified by our study can provide a useful outlook for academics as well as for practitioners / investigators.
